The Board of Directors manages the Foundation.

According to the By-Laws the Board of Directors  consists of a minimum of 3 and maximum of 7 members. The Board of Directors is formed by:

Dr. iur. Bernhard Madörin

Bernhard Madörin was born in 1959 in Basel, where he also grew up. He studied Law at the University of Basel and concluded his studies with a doctoral thesis in Tax Law.

With the set-up of his own accounting and consulting firm „Treuhand Dr. iur. Bernhard Madörin" in 1998 he started his own business. Since 2000 resp. 2004 Bernhard is Managing Partner and Chairman oft he Board of artax Fide Consult AG. Besides his activity as Managing Partner he, as a tax and trust expert, is responsible for the Department of Taxes, Law and Management Consulting of artax Fide Consult AG.

Today Bernhard looks back on 20 years of professional experience as a professional and entrepreneur.

He is a Board Member in approximately 50 different institutions where he holds office as the executive body, and in January 2010 probably the most prominent mandate at the Public Utilities Company of Basel, the IWB Industrielle Werke Basel came along, where he is the Chairman of the financial committee.

From 1999 to 2006 he politically active was a Member oft he Parliament of the Canton Basel

In 2008, in cooperation with Dr. med. Hanspeter Braun, Bernhard  published the book „Wärme, Schärfe und Gesundheit“ about traditional Chinese medicine which was awarded the Prize for Alternative Medicine 2008 („Preis für Alternativmedizin 2008“).

He is married an father of a grown daughter.

In his spare time Bernhard does not only write technical books for professionals but also fiction. The first one entitled “Deadly Genes” („Tödliche Gene“) was published in 2011 and was in the “Top Ten” Charts in Basel for several weeks. Bernhard is actually writing his second criminal novel.

Bernhard Madörin und Marco G. Walser are linked by a long-standing professional and personal friendship thus leading to the logical consequence of cooperating within the Board of Directors of Water for Life.


Marco G. Walser

Marco G. Walser was born in 1962 in Berne and was raised in the Canton of Ticino.

After completing a basic training in a Swiss Bank Marco enlarged his educational background obtaining the Swiss Federal Certificate of Fiduciary (graduated 1988), and the Swiss Federal Diploma of Certified Expert in Business Administration, CEBA (2002). From 1996 to 2006 he was a Lecturer at STS Swiss Fiduciary School on the subject of Asset Management.

He is the founder of the Walser & Partner Group which is part of AllShares AG and active in Switzerland, Dubai and Brazil. These firms are active in the field of Accounting, tax, Management Consulting and Real Estate.

At the end of 2010 Marco handed over control of the operative units in Switzerland to his 2 younger partners, Abdullah Demir and Tobias Wilhelm, who jointly also took over the majority of the shares of the group. Marco continues to serve as Group Chairman within AllShares AG and remains in charge of the international section (Dubai, Brazil).

Prior to starting Walser & Partner Marco accumulated professional experience with Ernst & Young, Zurich and Houston/USA, from 1985-1993; before that Marco had a 4 year engagement with CREDIT SUISSE and a management training in a Bank in Denver/USA, from 1981-1982.

Marco was active in Politics and in the Swiss Army: from 2002 to 2008 he served as Minister of Finance (Treasurer) in his City of residence Freienbach (Canton of Schwyz) and served previously in the Area of Logistics, as company commander and as member of the officer staff of the Logistics Battalion of Southern Alpine Region.

He is married to Tatjana Walser, a family father and he grew up in the Canton of Ticino (the southern, Italian speaking part of Switzerland); he is fluent in German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish French and English.

His Hobbies are: sailing, trekking, travel and aviation.

 

Dr. med. Tatjana Walser

Tatjana Walser was in 1968 in Croatia and relocated to Switzerland in 2003.

She studied medicine from 1988 to 1994 at the University of Rijeka and concluded her studies with a doctoral thesis at the same University, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics with the title „Suitability of Hysterosalpingography in the investigation of infertility“. She passed her State Examination in Zagreb in 1994.

From 1994 to 1999 Tatjana trained in the fields of Sport Medicine with focus on Laser-Medicine in Switzerland and in the U.S. and until 2003 she had her own medical office in Opatija and Rijeka, Croatia.

From 2004 to 2011 she first worked as Medical Assistant (Dept. of Surgery), then in Emergency Medicine and finally as a General Practitioner in the Canton of Schwyz.

Additionally Tatjana visited continuing professional education modules in the field of non-invasive Laser-Treatment in aesthetical medicine, authored several scientific publications (among them several articles in two medical books) and held numerous speeches at medical congresses in Switzerland and abroad.

In 2001 she concluded the „ATK 2011“ (Education in Tropical Medicine) at the Swiss TPH in Basel (Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute).

She is a member of the following Associations: FMH Swiss Medical Association, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (Fellow-Member), New York Academy of Sciences, Swiss Association Laser Therapy (Chairwoman 2006-2008), World Association for Laser Therapy (WALT), Croatian Society for Laser Medicine (HULM) (Honorary Chairwoman).

Tatjana Walser is married to Marco G. Walser and mother; she is fluent in German, Croatian, English and Italian.

In her free time she enjoys sailing, aviation and hiking.

 

Abdullah Demir

  • CEO / Partner of Walser & Partner Group, in charge of all subsidiaries in Switzerland
  • Born 1974, grew up and resident in the Canton of Zurich, married with 4 children
  • Commercial apprenticeship in a commercial enterprise in Buchs/ZH. Further training in hotel sector (Specialist Hotel School Belvoirpark Zurich, higher vocational school), with focus on cost control and corporate planning
  • Employed at UBS Card Center AG as “Cost Controller”
  • 2-year, part-time training and self-employed activity in the general financial sector (financial and pension planning, property and social insurance sector)
  • 2000 Joined Walser & Partner AG, active since 2003 as Managing Director of the Zurich Office
  • 2002 Acquisition of the Swiss Fiduciary Certificate
